Danny was everything to me - he was my best friend when I lost him. I'm so glad to be a part of this tribute to him and to carry it on! A great time was had by all on this album, and here's to Mike for doing such a wonderful job, with all heart and soul.

Having heard the "rough" mixes of this record, I'm really excited for it to be finished. And on a personal note, I'm thrilled to be playing on a track with the legendary Jordanaires! And hearing the tracks that Danny was actually on is a great treat to say the least. Thanks Sweet Mikey C! You're the tops in my book, and keep on doing what you're doing; I want to do it again!

When Mike mentioned getting Danny's original band together with some additional guitar players to create a project that paid homage to Danny's legacy. I thought it was a fabulous idea. By mating this new project with that original set of recordings Mike already had in the can, I feel we have something to present to the world that allows them a further glimpse into who the musician Danny Gatton really was. And just like so many others you and I have met, even if it was only through hearing their music, reading their books, or admiring their art, you may find yourself saying, "I wish I knew them better."

I am grateful to be part of this music with these good people, especially your friend and mine, Mike Campbell. Thanks, Mike. Thanks, Danny.

To me, if you are looking for a record that will send you back to the good old "Rock-a-billy Days" that features a bunch of pickin' and that offers a fun-filled package of songs that will move you across the dance floor, this is the record for you! Mike has vocals like no other that capture the same style of the late, great Roy Orbison. They don't call him "Sweet Mikey C" for nothing, folks. He is the real deal.

Working on theses sessions did not feel like work. The people were great, the music was awesome, and we all had fun. I'll never forget it. It really was something special. Thanks again, Mike, for being such a wonderful person and having the vision to get all these wonderful people together to work on such a wonderful project.

I wish I would have gotten the chance to work with Danny Gatton more than I did. Musically, we really clicked. I also believe we would have become good pals, as well. I do think Danny would have approved of the way Arlen, Johnny, and Scotty played his parts on this record. My heartfelt thanks go out to those who worked on this project.

The first time I was aware of Danny Gatton was early one morning years ago. I was on the road somewhere in a hotel and was having my first cup of coffee. Gail turned on the television and there on the TV was a young man playing "That's Alright" on an ES 295. I thought, "Listen to that guy play." After he finished, the announcer said, "That was Danny Gatton," and I never forgot him.

Mike Campbell has brought together a group of musicians who always make me smile. It's the same goofy grin that showed up every time I sat down to play with my friend and musical mentor, Danny Gatton. The spirit of this music and these performances are dedicated to him.
